Anton

Anton tired after surfing.

Torquay has big waves

Torquay

Well a little change in scenery is very refreshing! Today we went to Torquay for the afternoon. It was packed when we got there, this photo was taken before we left at about 7 pm. It's really funny how people just leave suddenly and the beach is deserted at the best time of the day. It is ideal for me, because I get to take photos in the best light with no people around. The waves were big and they came way too often...I think I prefer Lorne.

Full on Lorne

Oh guess who I saw today at the supermarket completelly out of the way (Eltham) I saw Alex D. my ex student! It was nice.

Lorne

Hi folks!
This is Lorne at 8 am. What a perfect morning in the perfect place. Lots of sunbaking, surf, swimming and reading. The best day of the year so far. I am so tired now, just got home. It is 11.25 pm and I'm about to eat dinner (just a sandwich) then go to bed and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzfor a long 8 hours at least. Tomorrow I will post more about today.

The Decemberists

Listen to this song please! I love the lyrics and how well they describe summer feellings, the music so much complements  the words. I love this band! This song is from the album 'My Crane Wife'.

"Summersong"

Ramblin' where to begin
I taste the summer on your peppery skin
Been saved the warmer the waves
I felt a slip into a watery grave

My girl, linen and curls
Lips parting like a flag all unfurled
She's grand the bend of her hand
Digging deep into the sweep of the sand

Summer arrives with a length of lights
Summer blows away
And quietly gets swallowed by a wave
It gets swallowed by a wave

Waylay the din of the day
Boats bobbing in the blue of the bay
In deep far beneath all the dead sailors
Slowly slipping to sleep

My girl, linen and curls
Lips parting like a flag all unfurled
She's grand the bend of her hand
Digging deep into the sweep of the sand

Summer arrives with a length of lights
Summer blows away
And quietly gets swallowed by a wave
It gets swallowed by a wave...

Any Baker's Envy

Aren't they? My beautifully crafted 'alfajores de maicena' were made with the finest ingredients and lots of love. This argentinian delicacy requires a lot of patience and careful manipulation, recepie availble on request!
Anyway today I just wanted to write about 'Death Cab for Cutie' a band that my husband recommended. I have tried to get into it for a while now. I have listened to it a few times while riding my bike, because I like to associate music with other things I like to do. Just as I learned to love 'The Shins' while travelling to Lorne last summer holidays. I also tried not only to listen to the melodies but to focus on the lyrics, but I still can't get quite into them. There's two things I am not sure of yet. One: the voice of the singer makes me think of the 'pet shop boys' singer which I completely dislike (but only in a couple of songs) and the other thing is that some lyrics seem a little childish.
On the other hand I know that sometimes it takes a little longer for music to grow on me, so I will continue to listen to it an see if I can like it and add it to my list.

Strike a pose!
